Emily earned her RN just before the pandemic swept the world. She volunteered to work in the King County COVID-19 pop-up tents, donned the full PPE and helped patients suffering from the virus.

The pandemic was real for Emily in a way it wasn't for most people. It was physically tangible. She was there. More frustrating than the virus itself however, was the denial, disregard, and disbelief of those she encountered who refused to respect the danger, or even acknowledge the reality of the pandemic.
